Voicemail box

This screen displays your Inbox, Sent Items, and Trash folders. To customize your voicemail box, you may also set up additional personal folders. You may add up to 15 personal folders. All new messages are displayed in bold in order of the date/time received. As you get close to the maximum amount of space available in your voicemail box, the meter in the upper corner of your voicemail box will turn red. Note: You can sort by any column heading. Select the link at the top of the column for ascending order. To change to descending order, select the link again. For the "When" column, the default sort is descending order. To change to ascending order, select the "When" link at the top of the column.

Edit folder name

You can personalize the name of your voicemail folder by entering a new name and selecting save. To return to your voicemail box and not create a new folder name, select the Cancel button.

Edit/view email notifications

This screen allows you to edit or view your email notification settings. At the top of the screen you will see the email address you are managing.

You have 3 types of email notification settings:

NOTE: The default message notification is "Never for voicemails"

You can also set up a notification to your email if someone in your message notification group leaves you a message. Note: If you select this option, you will receive an email notification if someone in your message notification group leaves you a message, regardless of your selected email notification setting.

Edit/view telephone notifications

This screen allows you to edit or view your telephone notification settings for your main telephone number, Cingular wireless phone numbers, and any additional phone numbers associated with the voicemail box.

You have 3 types of message notification settings:

Forward via email

Use this screen to forward voicemail messages to an email account. Add an email address to the To, CC, or BCC fields. You can choose to save a copy of this message in your Voicemail Messages Sent Items folder. You can also verify the voicemail message you're forwarding by selecting the attachment link. A new window will open to play the message. Can't play the message? Download a media player like Windows Media® Player from microsoft.com or RealPlayer® from real.com.

When you are ready, select the send button to forward the voicemail message.

Forward via voicemail

Use this screen to forward voicemail messages to another voicemail account. You can only forward messages to other AT&T Phone customers. If their voicemail is disabled, they won't receive the forwarded message. Add telephone numbers to the To, CC, or BCC fields. You can choose to save a copy of this message in your Voicemail Messages Sent Items folder. You can also verify the voicemail message you're forwarding by selecting the attachment link. A new window will open to play the message. Can't play the message? Download a media player like Windows Media® Player from microsoft.com or RealPlayer® from real.com.

When you are ready, select the send button to forward the voicemail message.

General preferences

This screen allows you to specify if you want the system to notify you upon receiving new messages prior to logging out. You can also indicate if you want a copy of all of your forwarded voicemails to be saved in your sent items folder.

Manage email notification for voicemail box

This screen allows you to configure and manage your email notifications settings (the notification default setting is "Off"). To set up email notifications, click the "Add Email Address" button. You can set up notification for up to 3 email addresses. Email addresses are displayed in alphabetical order. To delete all addresses simultaneously, select the email address check box and click the "Remove Selected" button.

Manage folders

Manage your voicemail folders from this screen. The system will alert you when you have reached your maximum storage space – the storage space bar will go from green to yellow to red. You can create up to 15 personal folders. Additional information available on this screen includes:

This screen displays general voicemail box information and allows you to access your voicemail box and manage voicemail box preferences.

Manage voicemail box preferences

Use this screen to select and assign the security levels required to access your voicemail from your home phone or AT&T wireless device linked to this voicemail box. Digital voicemail will always require a secure login. It will also always ask for both the telephone number and PIN when you call from any other phone.

NOTE: A Sub Account user can modify all settings except the security settings.

Manage message notification group

This screen allows you to add names and telephone numbers to your Message Notification Group. Once a name is added, you'll receive a notification (pager or email) when someone within the notification group leaves you a voicemail message, if the notifications are turned on. You can add up to 20 telephone numbers to a Message Notification Group.

Manage pager notification for voicemail box

This screen allows you to turn pager notification settings "On" or "Off" (the notification default setting is "Off"). This screen also allows you to configure your pager notification preferences depending on whether your pager has an email address or telephone number.

Manage telephone notification for voicemail box

This screen allows you to configure and manage your telephone notification settings (the notification default setting is "On"). Telephone Notifications are either "On" or "Off" for all phone numbers associated with the voicemail box. Any settings for each phone number associated with the voicemail box will be suppressed if you set the Telephone Notification feature to "Off". Once the notifications are set up, the following information displays:

Manage voicemail box greetings

This screen allows you to listen to your name announcement and specify the greeting a caller hears when reaching your voicemail box. There are five types of greetings you can use:

NOTE: You can only create or record a greeting over the telephone. Log into your voicemail and select 3 for greetings then follow the prompts.

Manage voicemail settings

This screen allows you to manage and customize your voicemail settings for the following voicemail box features:

Change PIN

Use this screen to view invitations to subscribe to a published group (a list of contacts created by another AT&T address book user. As a subscriber, you can view contact information in the published group. You can also save the contact information from the published group to your local address book. You can also check the status of your publish and subscriber rights.

Message sent

This is a confirmation that your voicemail message has been sent. System delivery times may vary depending upon the number of contacts you have designated to receive the voicemail message. You may return to your voicemail message list by selecting the Back to Voicemail Messages List.

Pager notification by email

This screen allows you to specify the type of pager you are using, and indicate the setup for your message notifications when being paged. Upon accessing this screen, the type of pager defaults to "Alphanumeric".

Pager notification by telephone

This screen allows you to set up your pager to receive a numerical notification when you receive a voicemail.

Note: If you do not know what to provide on this screen, call your own pager number. Listen to the prompts to determine what information the caller is asked to enter and the number of seconds it takes for each prompt to play before the caller is required to enter the information.

Voicemail

Manage your voicemail here. In addition to adding the caller information into your address book, you can delete, move, or forward the voicemail message from the Actions drop-down. To return the call, select the Call button. To listen to the voicemail message, select the sound icon. A new window will open to play the message.

Can't play the message? Download a media player like Windows Media® Player from microsoft.com or RealPlayer® from real.com.

Or, save the voicemail message to your computer. Right-click your mouse and select Save. From the pop-up window, designate the location to save the voicemail message and select Save.

Voicemail error message

We couldn't deliver the voicemail you attempted to forward. Please make sure you forward the voicemail message to another digital voicemail customer. Or, make sure you entered the phone number correctly. Here are your choices:
